Unique Identifier:  DLIST
Name:  DLIST: Digital Library of Information Science and Technology
Data Provider:  DLIST manages this e-print archive acting on behalf of the authors who submit documents to the archive. As data provider of this open archive DLIST will provide a submission mechanism, a long-term storage system and a mechanism that enables third parties to collect data from the archive. In May 2005 DLIST added OAI services – see http://dlharvest.sir.arizona.edu.
Description of Content:  Scholarly contributions - working papers, publications, data - of LIS scholars.
Copyright Holders:  Author(s) who give irrevocable, royalty free permission to DLIST to distribute for educational and research purposes.

  • Submission Policy
    DLIST Editors (currently Anita Coleman and Cheryl Malone) approve content and inclusion.
  • Data Policy
    Contents will be openly available over the global network.
  • Metadata Policy
    Third parties may collect metadata from the archive via mechanisms that create end-user services to support the discovery and presentation of the archive’s content. The general policy is to allow harvesting of metadata. Harvesting full content is not permitted. Records in the archive have unique and persistent identifiers in the form: dlist:yyyy.### dlist is the Repository Identifier. It is followed by a colon. yyyy is the year the report is created. It may also be the year the report is released for open distribution in the archive, also known as the Date for Discovery, and is the first component of the Unique Identifier. It is followed by a dot. ### is the paper number for that year. Separator: : [colon] is the separator between the Repository Identifier and the Unique Identifier

Submission Mechanism: 
  • Submission Policy
    Any LIS scholar globally may submit their works to the archive. All papers and publications are formally entered into the archive by the primary author and approved by the archive editors.

Funding:  DLIST is currently completely funded by grants from University of Arizona, Prop 301.
The following policies are currently being drafted: Metadata Quality & Rights, Storage Formats & Preservation, Collection Development, and Research Use.
EPrints dLIST, an open access archive for the Information Sciences, is supported by the School of Information Resources and Library Science and Learning Technologies Center, University of Arizona. Established in 2002, dLIST has a global Advisory Board and is a part of the Information Technology & Society Research Lab. Open Archives
