October 26 it was the third meeting with my supervisor. We have disscused about the pathfinder and next steps to complete the internship.

Finished the pathfinder and sent it to my supervisor.

Start to create the pathfinder for the cataloging.

September 24-30, 2005

On September 29 I had the second meeting with my site supervisor. She approved the DLIST Collection Development Policy and as a result, the DLIST Collection Development Policy has been posted on the Internet. Some links within the policy are not yet active. I continued evaluating documents submitted to DLIST. I have started to create the pathfinder for Cataloging.

September 17-23, 2005

The Internship Plan and Progress websites have been posted on the Internet. I sent to my site supervisor a first draft of the collection development policy for DLIST. I have started to evaluate the documents that are already submitted to DLIST relative to the policy I have developed.

September 10-16, 2005

I have studied about the collection development process and collection development policies. I read about the collection development policies components and found what the differences between the collection development policies for libraries, digital libraries, and open archive repositories are. I have started to elaborate the collection development policy for DLIST. I have started to develop the websites that will present my research.

September 6, 2005

First meeting with the site supervisor. We have decided on the steps I need to follow to fulfill the goals of my internship plan. We have discussed about the appropriateness of using “collection development” for open archive repositories case, and we stressed the importance of having clear copyright status for any document submitted.

September 1-9, 2005

Continue reading the collected materials; have started evaluation and organization of these materials, have started to organize the web pages for this project.
